A visit with the parents

I hope eveyone enjoyed MLK day and if you had a day off, you enjoyed it too. I had good intentions to post the visit with the parents but the couch got the best of me and lately it has been winning. So what was my girl Cara doing while she waiting on Curtis to show up? She was hanging out with her parents. Oh yes, they have adventures too.
Cara: "Hi Daddy and what in the world did you buy now?"
Dad: "Hey Babygirl. Beauty needed a new bed so she will stay off our bed. She has a passion for your mother's expensive duvet."
Cara: "Does she now. Here let me help you. I think you buy her something every week."
Dad: "No, it just seems like it, hehehee."
Mom: "Hey sweetie, how are you? Down Beauty!"

Cara: "Hi Mommy, why is Beauty so spoiled? Did you and Daddy teach her to drive too?"
Mom: "Down Beauty, She like to check things out since she didn't go. Anyway, you look very comfortable. Here let sit, hold on sweetie. Honey do you need any help?"
Cara: "Mommy, I asked him and he said he was ok".

Cara: "Hi Beauty, you are such a spoiled dog, yes, yes you are."
Mom: "You know the only reason she is spoiled is because of you. She has a show coming up in a few months so me and your dad will be working on that".
Cara: "Are you going to get her a new handler or keep Ashley?"
Mom: "It will be up to Ashley. You know she has a little girl now. She is about the same age as Crystal twins. She is such a cutie."
Cara: "Speaking of Crystal. The last time I talked to her, she mentioned Diamond got her driver license. I remember when she was five and said she wasn't going to drive she was going to have a chauffer, hehehee."
Mom: "Well, honey she is driving now. She called and said she would stop by this weekend. I hope she makes it. I would love to see her."
Cara: "Oh no, I have a conference in Detroit this weekend, so I'm going to miss her."
Dad: "Ok my lovely ladies, we need to get going it almost time."
Cara: 'Yes it is Daddy, let me go get ready. Don't forget to introduce yourselves to our new friends. Mommy where did I put my shoes?"

Hello friends! My name is Ann and this is my husband Nathaniel. We both retired from Mattel's. I was a graphic designer and he was a chemical engineer. We have five beautiful children that we are very proud of as well as seven grandchildren that keep us on the move. Welcome to our home.

Cara: "Mom, where did I put my shoes?"

  2. I agree, it is a great story! I could almost hear Cara talking to the dog. I think Nathaniel is AA Happy Family Grandfather. My question is what dog is Beauty and does she move?

  4. Hi Marta, the dog is by Mattel around 1979-1980, I believe. The hair is made from fake fur and it does require brushing(as you can see, Beauty is high maintenance!).

  5. Love the story and the doggie! Beauty is actually the first toy dog I've seen with "hair." All the ones I have plastic mold covering.

  6. I like how you mix older dolls with newer dolls. Haven't seen Beauty in years - nice to see her again.

    1. Thank you for the compliment. We always had dogs growing up so she fit right in with the HF parent who now spoil her.

  7. Hi Brini and welcome to blogger world. I am practically a newbie also. I love your stories and how you are introducing yor characters. Cara was my first AA as a child and I so wish I still had her? Is she a childhood doll?

  8. You have a real knack for telling realistic stories. I felt like I was sitting at a relative's house watching all the action. Beauty is beautiful. I love that you made her part of the story. "Mom, where did I put my shoes". LOL!
