Moved and adjusting....

Unlike some folks who like to enjoy a long weekend that comes with the Labor day celebration, we on the other hand have moved.  We left the quaint apartment for a nice spacious townhouse. It seemed like it had plenty of room until the doll boxes were unloaded. Well that just my son perceptive. The internet was just connected yesterday so it has been quite interesting without it. I notice that I  really do have a lot of shoes, lol. I do believe all the dolls survived the move, with the exception of Scarlett. I don't know why she doesn't have any clothes on! My beloved Fashion dolls are probably wondering what the heck!?! They were so used to being on shelves and posed, now they are just tossed in a box, looking crazy. Good thing they are all together, lol.

So we have this weekend to finally unwind, get some boxes unpacked, hopefully looking thrilled like the lady above. I must say everything went smoothly but my son says, "Moving is overrated." So I guess for him he will hire the professional. All I know is this, I will move my own dolls, sewing machine, serger, Kitchenaide. All in that order too. I hope to get a chance to check back soon.

Enjoy the weekend!

    1. Thank you. Between work and trying to unpack, we'll get there. Trust me the Xbox and PlayStation are up and running, lol.

  3. Congratulations on your move. It sounds like you have more space, so your dollies will be happy when they are finally unpacked and in their new space! One thing good about moving is that it kind of forces you to purge and get organized. I have moved both on my own and using a mover. There are pros and cons to both! In my last move, I hired movers and they did a terrible job. They packed clothing with toiletry products (which they were told to leave and not pack) and ruined my clothing. They also charged me double their estimate and I have to negotiate a settlement with them. I will never use them again, but hopefully, I won't ever have to move again!

    1. I think the next move for my son is going into his first home. I'm glad I have more space where I can leave my sewing machine up as well as showcase my AA silk tones. We purge out the old furniture and will be getting new items. Some things that my son had since college was given away and I have a bag of items for a coworker who always wants my clothes. I don't mind moving, as a military kid you know I know how to go it done, it's my primadona kid that doesn't like hard labor, lol

  4. I do not envy your task of getting settled after a move, Brini. I am happy you have more space to enjoy and glad all the dolls survived the move. Hope to see you posting again soon.

    1. Thank you. I was thinking about you the whole time when I was looking for my dolls. I laughed to myself thinking about Giggles.

  5. Oh, I just hate moving. BUT....once your dolls realize how much more space they have to stretch out and roam (?) a bit, I'm sure they will be delighted with the change!

  6. Hi Brini, moving is so tiresome. I've moved last time five years ago and I hope I won't have to move again for a while!
But a new house is also such a thrill!

    1. It felt that way when we left my nephew at the old apartment until the lease was officially up. We would go there after work and pick up small things then would have to unload before we went to bed. We worked it out eventually and have been catching up on sleep.

  7. It's great that your move went so well! I hope you'll be very happy in your new home! I recently moved myself, and still have unpacked boxes, but not so many anymore, thank goodness :-).

    1. Thank you and I understand about the boxes too. Most of the kitchen items are set up and the pots and pans are in there new spaces. It just our own stuff that needs to be put away.

    1. Thank you. I must say I'm slowly getting there. Most of my all of my dolls have been located and the three doll homes I have are in there respective spaces. I just need to look a curios cabinets for my AA Silkies and I will be a happy camper.

  10. Hello Brini: I'm happy for you. A big house is always good news. The worst of moving are boxes. I also have too many shoes. A move is a good opportunity to do cleaning. Keep in touch
