Something for my mother.

"She spoke to me, I can't believe but she spoke to me".....that was taken from a Prince song that I was listening to. Now I have one, a little brown skinned Girl Scout!! I wasn't even looking for her but she spoke to me and now she lives in Dotsville. I know right, real estate is tight and some folk have moved. Yes, some of Cara friends now live in Spain!! How awesome is that.  How can you not love that face?
She is from the Avon Fine Collectible Tender Memories Doll Collection: "Girl Scout". According to the box she is third in the series. I didn't even know she existed!! Her Certificate of Authenticity states she is crafted in heirloom quality porcelain-look vinyl. The head and facial features were created by American artist Kathy Jeffers, with her pretty brown eyes.

Under her beanie, her hair is styled with a ponytail at the top and the rest hangs down. I haven't restyled it as of yet.  She stands 14 inches tall and comes with a stand.

She is dressed in her official uniform. Her details are just the cuties too, right down to her badges on her vest. She wears a green beanie, GS white shirt with blue dots and the GS logo, a blue tie, green shorts with a green belt, green knee socks with blue tabs on the top and plastic brown penny loafers. When I was a Girl Scout I had a slash and it had plenty of badges as well.  Remember Mother? Yes, she was along on the journey too. What did I learn? I discovered how to be innovative, determined and somewhat financially responsible. I'm getting sooo weak for the dolls DBG!!!. I can say I do have great people skills and I appreciate all my followers and love the comments they leave behind.
See, she ready to get her hustle on too. She come with this box of "cookies."  Her body is made of cloth but her arms can be posed.

"Hello, my name is Sabrina. Would you like to order some cookies?"

She arrived on Thursday and my son picked these up on Saturday!! What a great kid!! Word to the wise, these new Savannah Smiles are to die for. If you like lemon, these are the best. I need a few more boxes of these. So addictive!!!!

So THANK YOU Mother for being with me during this journey. I didn't realize you were instilling me with building blocks that speaks volume of my character today. It was just fun. I have always  worked hard, stayed focus on the big picture and raised a darn good kid. As I continue to set goals for myself I know God's will handle the rest.

Have a great week everyone!!

  1. It is difficult to leave a doll behind that calls your name. Sabrina makes a nice addition to Dotsville.

I purchased Sabrina new along with Batter Up, another 14-inch doll dressed as a baseball player. I don't recall how the third doll was dressed... I am thinking it was a school girl.

    1. I couldn't resist Googling to find out about the third doll. She was dressed as a school girl and came with a chalk board: First Day of School.

    2. I just love her. I was having an insomnia night and was surfing ebay and there she was. Ready to come home. She was in mint condition and she looked like me, so there was no way I was going to leave her just out there waiting to be loved! I googled the First Day of School doll too and I will be keeping a look out for her just in case.

  2. She's lovely, her uniform and the box of cookies are adorable! It's very nice to read how you experienced being with the scouts and how it influenced your future life. Looking forward to read the adventures of the new resident of Dotsville :-).

    1. She is so adorable!, right down to her penny loafers. My mother kept us involved in all kind of activities, even my brothers. They were Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts too. I ended up working for Boy Scouts of America in Detroit and it was so amazing to see how it transformed kids in the city and the lifelong friendships they cultivated.

  5. Ok, I can imagine she must have shouted loud and clear! I love her and want one! LOL Your mother's training comes across in your sweet comments and fun posts!
She looks like she could be related to the two dolls I have. Remember the one I bought a wig for? You can search my blog under "hair today". Let me know what you think.

    1. She was screaming at me, lol. I remember that post and she does resemble them she just a smaller doll. My mother kept us involved in so much which was really our bonding time. My parents let us pretty much join, try out, get involved in pretty much whatever we want. My son can't believe I learned how to play the drums. He wasn't one of the kids though. He's like the stars, moon and skies, he like anything that does with flight so being a scout was not his thing. He was surrounded by science related activities, he has to use his mind, feed his curiosity, so opposite of me. Thank you for the compliment! I was brought up to never take anything or anyone for granted, treat everyone the way you want to be treated so that is what I do.

    1. Welcome jSarie! I never seen her before, I mean I never knew she existed until I say her face looking back at me on Ebay, telling me she wanted to come and live with me. I never knew Avon had these types of dolls and she is one of three. I wish I had a better picture of the badges, they are so cute!
