In honor of my late father, Master Sargent Nathaniel Dotson (Ret.)
1925-1999
Remembering you is easy Dad,
I do it every day,
And missing you is something
That will never go away.
I want to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of our soldiers who serve, protect and defend this great county we live in. My father served over 30 years and retired with honors you read about in books. On the back of this picture it is dated 1978 and my mother wrote Military Ball on it. I hope there is one with both of them since our dog Baron is in this one.
I have been fighting a bad cold these last few days so hopefully and I can see what's been going on in Dotsville. Have a great week everyone!
Your dad and my dad were born three years apart and passed awayin either the same year or a year apart. (1998 or 1999; it's a blur to me. I always have to refer to his program to get the year correct). Like you, I remember him (fondly) often.
ReplyDeleteHappy Memorial Day, Brini!
Be well.

ReplyDeleteThanks Marts and yes they do! It a hard job but for those who have shosen to serve are the best!
DeleteThis is a wonderful way to honor and remember your Father even though I know I remember mine each and every day. I just wanted to say I do know how you feel Brini.
ReplyDeleteHis memeories play in my mind all the time. He continues to guide me.
DeleteWhat a nice tribute to your dad. My dad passed away in 1998 (I think). Like Debbie, I would have to check the program. I got a kick out of the dog being in the picture. This provides the perfect picture of Mr Dotson and the dog in your stories. Happy belated Memorial Day to you and all those who serve and served.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vanessa. We had dogs all our lives and my dad always wantes a black shepard with certain markings and Baron was it. He as a great dog and you can see he was always, always involved with me Dad in one way or another. How can you not love a great pet!
